Renewable Energy
Jan. 2019 - Jan. 2020
The Challenge
With a current population of about 190.9 million. (World Bank, 2019), Nigeria has approximately 64% of its inhabitants living in rural areas (National Population Commission [Nigeria] and ICF Macro 2009).
Only about 22.617% of rural dwellers have been discovered to have access to the power grid (World Bank Sustainable Energy for all [SE4ALL] report, 2017), this leaves about over 77% of the rural population to depend on alternative energy means to meet daily needs.

The Effect
Think security – absence of security street lights may leave social vices unchecked.
Think economy – Short and restricted work time may inhibit residents’ ability to earn more or work on flexible hours.
Think Information/Health/Safety – Ever heard the quote “Information is power…?”
People in regions that are off the grid could have a higher tendency of suffering from disasters or outbreaks due to access to little or no information.
The Solution
To provide access to alternative renewable energy sources (solar). Fenix International (a company of Engie) is a fast-paced multinational renewable energy provider with presence in 5 African countries and a product team at Silicon Valley. It drives on the three core values of Planet, People and profit.
The Approach
The goal was to ensure an impactful debut into the Nigerian market. We worked with the Fenix team to develop a comprehensive visual communication strategy and materials to drive it’s impact across urban and rural Nigeria.

The Outcomes
Within 9months of working with the team from its Lagos office (also Fenix Nigeria Head Quarter) we expanded to about 8 others states across Nigeria in 2019, with an average of two centers in each state and still growing. We impacted thousands of lives and hundreds of businesses.
